A Reframing of the Apocalypse

APOCALYPSE FRAME allows a lot of flexibility to players and GMs. But sometimes a group may want to take their game somewhere that isn’t really supported by the rules. Enclosed in this supplement is a set of those kinds of possibilities.

Frame for Hire: In the standard setting, the Collective is always working for their own interests: they’re trying to carve out a place to be free in the ruined world. But what if it wasn’t so simple? This variant ruleset explores a more mercenary Collective, existing under the tension of working for groups who would see them destroyed.

Trust Only Your Skill: Aces have a lot of tools to make sure they get the job done, but to some extent or another, they are still reliant on their players’ dice rolling well. But what if that wasn’t the case? This variant ruleset removes probability in favor of deterministic action. Luck won’t help you now: trust only your skill.

Powered Metal Coffin: Frames in APOCALYPSE FRAME are in many ways abstract extensions of their pilot’s will. They barely feel mechanical at all, aside from taking Frame Damage. Aces will never die unless unless they choose to sacrifice themselves for the mission. But what if that wasn’t the case? This variant ruleset explores an approach that’s more brutal on both Frames and the Aces who pilot them.
